Team members who don’t want to change

Momentum is a powerful thing.

You’ve just returned from a conference where you “saw the light”. Excited and energized, you walk into your Monday morning huddle, ready to share the game-changing insights you’ve learned.

And then… silence.

Not even caffeine can wake your team from their deep sleep. When you leave the room, they exchange glances and reassure each other:

“Don’t worry! He/she will get over it.”

Sound familiar? Welcome to the club. Many dentists have experienced this exact moment. So, is all hope lost? Do you need to fire everyone and hire a brand-new team to make real changes?

Maybe. Maybe not.

What if your team had been there with you?

What if you had brought your entire team to the seminar that inspired you? Would they appreciate you more, knowing you had invested in them—giving them the opportunity to travel, learn, and grow?

And what if one of them had a child with an airway issue? Suddenly, this isn’t just theory—it’s personal. If they realized their own child could benefit from treatment, do you think they might become excited and engaged?

  • Do you have a team member who loves social media? Could they use their creativity to post to various “Mommy Groups” about airway?

As my mentor, Dr. Omer Reed, once said, “If it’s been done, it’s probably possible”. Others have made this shift successfully. Why not you?
